My current work is primarily about research and discoveries regarding materials and colors, with results that, I hope, spark discussions and reflections!

Describe your current work/practice in one sentence.

Only three things!!! That’s a challenge! I would say the human body and well-being. This is the inspiration behind my "Arthritis" collection, which aims to raise awareness about ankylosing spondylitis. Then there’s family, as I am a mother of four and a newly minted grandmother. This wonderful crew inspired the "SoloS" collection. And in third place, I would say communication—the joy of sparking discussions, reactions, and laughter! I love my creations to be playful yet meaningful!

What are three things/ideas that inspire you?

What other things do you do besides your jewellery practice?

I love all forms of art and compulsively buy art supplies! I always have a future project in mind—whether it comes to life or not. I also collect various items, including stones and minerals. Traveling plays an important role in my hobbies—I’m always eager for discoveries and a change of scenery! Cooking and taking care of my crew are also at the heart of my life.

My favorite piece is a set of two military-inspired medals named Solos 3 and Solos 4. I love the geometric aspect of the hexagons, the enamel colors, the reversibility, and the mechanism. I had so much fun creating them—they evoke my family, generation after generation!

What is a favourite piece that you’ve made and why?

What word pops into your mind when you think of Canadian art jewellery?

For me, the word that best describes Canadian jewelry is creativity! Each artist has their own signature, their own interpretation of concepts and techniques. We offer colorful, expressive, and innovative pieces. And the community is very close-knit—I find that mutual support is very present in this artistic and professional field. It’s a great source of joy to be part of this community that constantly strives to surpass itself!

The year 2025 begins with the exhibition of finalists for the François-Houdé Award, from January 30 to March 15, and I’m honored to be among them! Otherwise, I’m giving myself plenty of time this year for research and experimentation. A collection inspired by leather and cork will surely take shape... I also plan to attend some markets and perhaps apply for international exhibitions... Stay tuned!

What is coming up next for you?
