Our mission is to stimulate the contemporary ART jewellery scene in Canada, as well as to promote Canadian jewellery artists internationally. 

The mission of MetalAid is to support, promote, and foster community in the field of contemporary Canadian art jewellery practice, both nationally and abroad. Our online platform functions as an aggregate for information, events, opportunities, and articles related to contemporary art jewellery.

We are a journalistic hub for the discipline, delivering written content on practitioners and events relating to the field, as well as providing a platform for critical discourse amongst peers. We act as a connector between artists, collectives, galleries, and institutions in an effort to expand the reach of our community and give greater representation to the vast talent of Canadian jewellery artists.

MetalAid is a volunteer-run organization that understands, supports, and continues to promote contemporary art jewellery as its own artistic discipline. We believe that with an emphasis on creative expression, concept, and design, art jewellery goes beyond adornment and material value, to contribute to the larger visual and cultural artistic vocabulary. Our mission is to burgeon this field, and give visibility to all that it offers.

La mission de MetalAid est de soutenir, promouvoir et stimuler la communauté dans le domaine du bijou contemporain au Canada, tant au niveau national qu'international. Notre plateforme en ligne sert à regrouper diverses informations, événements, opportunités et articles liés au bijou contemporain. 

Nous constituons un pôle éditorial pour la discipline, en proposant des articles sur les praticiens et les événements liés au domaine, tout en offrant une plateforme de discussion critique entre pairs. Nous servons de lien entre les artistes, les collectifs, les galeries et les institutions dans un effort de développement de notre communauté et de représentation du riche talent des artistes joailliers canadiens.

En tant qu'organisation gérée par des bénévoles, MetalAid reconnaît, soutient et assure la promotion du bijou contemporain en tant que discipline artistique à part entière. Nous croyons qu'en mettant l'accent sur l'expression créative, le concept et le design, le bijou d'art a le potentiel de transcender l'ornement et la valeur matérielle pour contribuer à un vocabulaire artistique visuel et culturel plus large. Notre mission est de faire émerger ce domaine et de donner une visibilité à tout ce qu'il offre.
