Nosa Jewellery

I make contemporary brooches and utilitarian objects.

Describe your current work/practice in one sentence.

Nature, mental health and growth.

What are three things/ideas that inspire you?

What other things do you do besides your jewellery practice?

I have a hard time answering that question in particular. After 8 years of sitting at the bench to learn my craft, I realized recently that I don't have that many hobbies. For now, I am focusing on metalsmithing, but as soon as I'm done with my studies I'll go on a journey to find out what I like other than that.

The first pen that I made was by far the most fun I've ever had making a piece. Knowing that this object could always be in my pocket and be used to draw or sign a document is an incredible feeling, especially the part where I can explain to the people around that the object was made by my own hands.

What is a favourite piece that you’ve made and why?

What word pops into your mind when you think of Canadian art jewellery?

Innovative

Next semester I might be doing glasses! I am still deciding if it is a smart choice though, since I think I have a future making more pens, and so I might keep on going in that direction.

What is coming up next for you?
